Usenet Share respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. The Software is a desktop application; your files and encryption keys never pass through our servers.

• Account & billing data: Email address and order information collected by Stripe or Paddle during checkout (depending on the payment method you choose).
• License data: License keys and activation status, managed by our licensing system to enforce device limits.
• Support correspondence: Emails and any attachments you send to support@usenetshare.com.
• Website analytics: Anonymous, aggregated usage metrics on the public Site. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that identify individuals.

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect, store, or have access to your Usenet provider credentials.
• We do not collect the contents of your shares, files, or encryption keys.
• We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
• We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

How We Use Your Data

We use the limited data we collect for the following purposes:

• To deliver and validate software licenses.
• To process payments and issue invoices (via Stripe or Paddle, depending on the payment method).
• To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
• To send transactional emails (license delivery, renewal reminders, critical updates).
• To comply with legal obligations (tax, fraud prevention).

Third-Party Processors

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the business:

• Stripe — payment processing for card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link checkouts. Stripe processes cardholder data on our behalf.
• Paddle — alternative payment processing, tax collection, and invoicing (Merchant of Record) for Paddle-based checkouts.
• Email provider — transactional and support email delivery.

These processors are bound by data-processing agreements and only process your data on our behalf.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above or as required by law. License and billing records are kept for the legally required period (typically 6–10 years for tax purposes). Support emails are retained for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and for follow-up quality assurance.
